UPDATE

     I go to college full-time and I recently landed this part-time job. Honestly, it hasn't hit me at how busy I am, or should be. And I'm pretty much saying this because I just wanted to say that there may be a lack of posts during the next few weeks. I haven't had any recent inspiration so I want to know what you guys want to see! I know y'all are out there, I see you! LOL :) so reach out to me via comments or twitter or in-person if y'all know me, that would be rad... unless you didn't like my blog, then it would be awkward. But I just wanted to warn you but I will be posting soon enough, just hold out for now! I hope you still love me.

I FEATURE: CLOTHESENCOUNTERS/@imjennim

     So I'll be starting this thing where I feature some of my favourite things, kinda like those monthly favourites videos you see on the Youtubes by every beauty guru. Speaking of Youtube, I'll be featuring a "fashion guru" I found right off Youtube a thousand years ago. 

     As you guess from the title, I'm featuring Jenn Im a.k.a. ClothesEncounters. I literally have been subscribed to her channel for so long now, like way back when Sarah was still doing videos with her. I fell in love with the two ever since I watched their "Fashion Rules to Break" video. I mean, how can't you love them?! Their eclectic and unique style instantly inspired me to be more open and free to this idea of 'fashion'. 

     Sadly, Jenn is the only one doing videos now, but nevertheless I still love her and her channel! All throughout her whole Youtube journey she sticks to being her and she's so real. I'm always so inspired by her, not only by her rad fashion choices, but at how she delivers herself as a confident, independent woman. You go, Jenn!

     It has been the greatest seeing her style grow throughout the years and it would be a dream to meet her in person to tell her in person how much she means to me and to thank her for helping shape the person I am today. (Wow, how cliché did that sound?)

OOTD

      So today's OOTD is my go to. Whenever I don't know what to wear and I don't have any inspiration I wear this. As I said before, I love my grunge but funny enough this outfit isn't very grungy. 

     

     So as you can see, this outfit is simple yet chic! I'm just wearing a plain v-neck shirt with a red flannel on top and my faux leather jacket. Since it was still pretty cold I put on a scarf for added warmth. I also wore my Topshop Jamie jeans, (they fit so well and its not restricting which is what I look for in jeans, in other words, I LOVE THEM). My everyday shoes at the moment are these heeled booties from Target, (they have cutouts but I was wearing black socks so you can't see it properly).

OOTD

     I didn't realize that I would be so sh*t at posting at a regular schedule, but life happens so here I am coming at you with a long overdue post. Forgive me, please!

     I believe this is my first OOTD of the year so here we go. First thing you should know about me: my style changes everyday. Somedays I want to be polished at preppy and other days I don't put any effort and go for the hype look. But today, I stuck to what I've been loving: grunge. I've been into this trend ever since the beginning of the 90's grunge comeback and I haven't let it go since. I consider this to be my signature style, I mean I've always loved it and the era it comes from. And if you aren't familiar with grunge, the best way I can explain it is a cute girly twist on goth, if that makes sense... 

     Moving on to the actual outfit though (finally). I wore an oversized grey shirt saying, "SERVANT" with an oversized, plaid, flannel shirt. I paired it with black thigh high socks and black lace-up booties (not pictured). I also have here a small black backpack. 

     I know what you're thinking, I'm a horrible model, I know my life is hard.

A FRIENDLY REMINDER

      Sometimes people forget how amazing they are. Sometimes people forget how beautiful they are. Sometimes people forget how loved they are. Well I'm here to remind you that you are ALL amazing and beautiful people that are loved. I promise you that. I mean look at you, you've been on this earth for a while now and you've turned out okay despite all the obstacles life has thrown at you. That deserves serious props. I just want everyone to know that everyone is beautiful in their own unique way and I know that sounds super cliché but its true! NO ONE is identical, and don't even try to tell me that twins are because they do have their differences, and NO ONE can tell you what beauty is and isn't. That's just not fair, and reminds me a little bit of Hitler if you ask me. So be yourself, show the world your true colours and if anyone tries to bring you down, just know that they aren't worth your time. 

     This was kind of a different post but not enough people know this which makes me uneasy. I hope these words stick to you all and just know that you're worth it (not sponsored by L'oreal). Have a wonderful day and please enjoy this cute picture of a dog I found on tumblr.

     Don't you love sunny days? Me too. Except today it was too cold to function. Nevertheless, I still went out with my friend, Hannah, and I'm glad I did! We had a great day, from scouting cute guys to eating a huge platter of Greek food to our long walks on the creekside path! And just saying but is there anyone here that doesn't love Greek food?! That's what I thought. 

     Look how good that looks though!

     Despite the harsh cold air surrounding us, we crossed the bridge and walked down the path right beside the creek/river (yeah I don't really know) and although it was a long walk it was fun. Ranting about random problems and whatnot.

Nail Day!

So one thing to know about me, I'm obsessed with painting my nails! This week I've decided to paint my nails white! There's something about white nails that makes anyone's nails look so perfect. It makes nails look so clean and crisp and I love that. And white on white has been a huge trend the past year! 

I don't use any fancy nail polish, I just use the wet n' wild French White Crème from their Wild Shine collection. Super cheap and you can pretty much get it at a number of drugstores which is totally convenient. 

So yeah thats pretty much all I gotta say about my nails for now but I'll keep you posted!

Hey there! So me being a broke jobless college student I have to cut down on the shopping I do, unfortunately. There have been a few things that I've been wanting for the longest time but it gets expensive, like really expensive.. So I thought that maybe I could just post my current wish list here to somehow motivate me I guess...?

The Iconic Timberlands - Everyone and their moms have a pair of timbs and I've literally wanted these since I was 12. And yes, I clearly have an obsession with expensive black boots.

Asos Knee Length Overcoat - I've been wanting a camel coloured coat for a while now especially since it gets pretty cold here.

A Short Message From Queen Beyonce

I was just watching her "Beyonce - Self-Titled, Part 2" and she said something that completely stood out to me. She said "my message behind this album was finding the beauty in imperfection" and she continued by singing a few lines of Pretty Hurts.

Music Monday

Happy Monday y'all! 

Since its Monday and I like music as well as alliteration I decided to create Music Monday. I'm probably not the first person to this of this but hey its a good place to start. So for my first ever Music Monday pick I have to go with my all time FAVE, my queen Beyoncé! (duh) I mean since she surprised us all with that album of hers I have been on that shii NON. STOP. All the songs are fricken crazy!! AND the fact that she made music videos for all of them?! I'm amazed. I was so lucky to have seen Beyoncé live in concert on the Mrs. Carter World Tour. She was flawless, but I think we all knew that. I even got to see Les Twins (2 incredibly talented dancers from France who happen to be twins featured everywhere), and that was a big deal for me since I am an avid dance fan in the hip-hop community. Literally one of the best nights of my life. But back to the Beyoncé album; one of my faves is Pretty Hurts. I feel like this song can relate to every girl because of the deep meaning and lyrics of the song. All girls struggle with self-esteem and confidence and society takes advantage of that. Beyoncé talks about the not-so-pretty truth about beauty and she could not be more right. I highly recommend this song and strongly suggest you give it a listen. Anyways, I've been rambling too much. Bottom line: Beyoncé is my queen and you need to listen to Pretty Hurts.
